Question by Wes: 2001 Ford Explorer Sport car alarm problems, any suggestions?
I have been having problems with the factory security system in the Ford. After I replaced the car battery I think it reset the system and the car will not start without the 'beep' from the remote. However, I have to press the unlock button many, many times really fast to get the 'beep' to work. Otherwise, the car will not start. I took it to the dealership and they did not know the problem and wanted to charge me to look at it. Has this happened to anyone and any advice to fix it? This morning after the 'beep' I still could not get it to start. I want to disable the security system but not sure if that will help. Thanks.

If I was you I would get ride of it and by a new one from another car audio place such as sounds great or kencaid.
The dealer will only replace it and charge you lots more than a sterio shop.
P.S the alarm is 6 years old its probley busted time for new anyway.
